Daxxify®

Daxxify is an injectable treatment that treats facial wrinkles. It uses botulinum toxin type A as its active ingredient, a neurotoxin that relaxes facial muscles locally when injected. Daxxify has a different formulation than other products with the same active ingredient, like Botox. While other neuromodulators use human serum albumin (a blood protein) to stabilize the formulation, Daxxify uses a synthetic peptide. This peptide helps the effects last longer.

• Forehead Wrinkles: Prominent lines across the forehead can be relaxed through a series of Daxxify injections across the forehead and brows.
• Crow’s Feet: The dynamic lines that form at the corners of your eyes when you smile respond well to neuromodulator treatments.
• Frown Lines: Daxxify is FDA-approved to treat frown lines, sometimes called glabellar lines or 11s. In clinical studies, 98% of patients showed mild or no wrinkles four weeks after treatment.
• Other Aesthetic Uses: Other wrinkles and aging concerns can be treated with Daxxify, including lip lines, neck bands, chin dimpling and bunny lines.

• Ask your provider about avoiding medications. They may recommend that you avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E and turmeric before your appointment to avoid the risk of bruising.
• Let your provider know your medical history. This includes current medications, previous aesthetic treatments, medical conditions and more.
• Plan ahead for events. If you have a special event coming up, plan your treatment at least two weeks in advance to get your full benefits.
• Avoid alcohol. Alcohol the day before your appointment can lead to increased bruising and swelling.

Daxxify treatments are fast and easy appointments, suitable for fitting into a lunch hour. Your provider will use a fine needle to inject the product into different points around the treatment area, targeting specific muscles that are responsible for your facial wrinkles. Once the treatment is over, you can return to your day.

Daxxify Aftercare and Maintenance

• Keep your head upright for four hours. Lying down too soon can cause migration to unintended areas.
• Do not touch the treated area. You should especially avoid massaging the skin near treated areas or scratching injection points.
• Keep exercise to a minimum. On the day of your treatment, plan light activities like walking rather than heavy lifting, running or other vigorous exercise.
• Protect your skin. Keep it from excessive sun and heat exposure for a few days to reduce swelling and irritation.
• Do not schedule facials. Additional facial treatments like lasers, microneedling or facials should wait for several weeks.
