The top-rated Atlanta Highway Seafood Market serves up hearty helpings of fish, shrimp, oysters, etouffe, gumbo, and more at affordable prices. 2 Dog prides itself on fresh, local ingredients to create “rustic euro soul food,” according to its website. Diners can enjoy soups, salads, quiche, quesadillas, chicken picatta, flank steak, and more. Gainesville does fine dining well with Scott’s Downtown. The high-end restaurant is a 2016 Diner’s Choice Award winner and features strip sirloin, filet mignon, rack of lamb, and more.

Attractions

Visitors will have plenty to do while in town. With Lake Lanier and the Blue Ridge Mountains, there are plenty of opportunities to fish, boat, swim, and hike. For art lovers, there’s The Arts Council, the Quinlan Arts Visual Center, and the Brenau University Galleries. There’s also plenty of great shopping with a number of boutiques, specialty shops, and strip malls throughout the city. Families can have the trip of a lifetime with the Frances Meadows Aquatic Center, Elachee Nature Science Center, and the Funtastic Family Center.
